YahAOL? Is Yahoo merging with AOL?

Would it be AolYah or YahAol or neither? The Wall Street Journal and Reuters are both reporting that Search Engine Bigs Yahoo and Aol are in talks about a potential merger. This is probably an attempt to hold off the Microsoft Hostile takeover.
Up until a few days ago Microsoft was trying to acquire Yahoo in a “Friendly” manner by making an offer to the board of directors. Microsoft, in an effort to improve their lackluster search engine status and gain a stronger foothold in that market is making every effort to compete with Search Engine Behemoth Google.
It was reported recently that Google topped the 70% Search Engine traffic market. With Yahoo and MSN coming in a distant 2nd and third. Although a merger between Microsoft and Yahoo would not instantly overthrow Google in the search engine market, it would allow them to posture for future gains. In efforts to thwart Microsofts attempts reports have Yahoo offering to buy out AOL and merge the two companies. With AOL Owner Time Warner investing in the company an approximate $10 Billion dollars.
All this posturing and I just wonder, will this make any of the search results for Yahoo, AOL or MSN any better? I can’t remember the last time I used any of them for anything search related. If they don’t work on their algorithms to improve there relevancy Google has nothing to worry about, ever.
