Escape reality with Box Fab’s iPhone virtual reality kit

Apple’s Software Development Kit (SDK) has already helped produce many crazy applications for the iPhone. One promising new idea is the Box Fab’s 3D virtual reality headset. The device turns your iPhone into a VR headset, and uses internal accelerometers to reposition the world as you walk around. It is even being considered to network the devices so that you can interact with other users.
There is no promise that it will be produced, but Box Fab says it will cost roughly $200. While this will probably only live to serve as entertainment, I can’t help imagining a world where we’ve all receded from reality and live in a virtual world.
