Posted by in Tablet PC

Pad war is starting with the release of Asus Eee Pad EP121.

We all know how it feels to try out the newest slate computer aka tablet pc. In fact, at this point, we usually just shake out heads and move on. Only the most curious of us usually try them out, hoping that the experience will somehow be better than the previous one. However, we are usually disappointed. The fact is, slate computers or tablet devices or tablet pc, up until now, have not had as much to offer as a PC. Their operating systems are more restricted, their hardware is limited, and the overall experience is a let-down. Slew of manufacturers trying to tap tablet devices market and releasing portable tablet devices based on windows initially.

Well, that used to be the way it was. However, with the release of the new Asus Eee Pad EP121, we just may have seen the playing field leveled a little bit. This portable tablet computer that runs windows7  promises a few things that we have not seen in a device of it’s type before, and these promises have a lot of people looking a bit closer to see if the claims could possibly be true. For one, this device ships with a 12 înch, multi-touch sensitive, high resolution touchscreen. Two, it sports a CULV Intel Core, runs Windows 7 and 2 Duo processors. Both Asus Eee Pad EP101TC and Asus Eee Pad EP121 are offering 10-hour battery life. Just like an Apple iPad, Eee Pad also offering virtual keyboard and a special docking station for the keyboard. There is no doubt that these tools could enable the tablet to handle several tasks at the same time a task that any mobility computing device must be able to withstand in this modern day and age.

With the specially designed touchpad laid out the way it is, it should make for easy internet web browsing. The user interface is supposed to be simple enough, and you will be able to view video or listen to music without jumping through flaming hoops to do so, as was the case with earlier slate-style pads. Need a word processor? This device features a very unique handwriting feature which enhances security, as well as a virtual keyboard and a docking station where you could plug in an external device.

If it sounds like it is too good to be true, do not shrug it off just yet. By all indications, this is the slate that we have been waiting for. The test, however, will really get underway once it reaches the hands of the tech-savvy masses. If it can stand up to the rigors of everyday laptop use, while offering better media than the mobile device, then we might just have a winner in the Asus Eee Pad EP 121. It is going to be a tough fight, but this one just might win out.
